Patient Care Philosophy

Exceptional care. Every patient. Every day.

When your hand, wrist or elbow is injured, recovery rarely happens overnight. Depending on your injury, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation can take anywhere from days to months.

You need a caring medical team who will stay with you through the entire process, addressing your questions and concerns that arise along the way. That's the kind of expert care and support you can expect from Dr. Brown and his professional staff. Every single day.

Instructions on what to do before and after your surgery, as well as information on some of our patients' most common questions, are all addressed here. Answers to any other questions are always just a phone call away. Our professionals can be reached 24 hours a day at (314) 336.2555.

Preparing for your appointment

For many people, a first visit to a hand surgeon can be stressful. Dr. Brown and his staff understand your concerns, and will be sensitive to your feelings.

The most important thing you can do on your visit is to tell Dr. Brown any information that relates to your injury or your health — even if it makes you uncomfortable. He can only properly determine the course of treatment if he fully understands the issues and problems you are having.

Also, prepare for your appointment in advance by writing down any questions you may have. Make sure to get these questions answered when you meet with Dr. Brown or his staff, along with any other questions that may come up during your visit. You may even want to bring someone along to help you ask questions and remember the answers.

Any tests and procedures performed at a visit will depend on your condition.

I had surgery on both elbows and my left wrist. Everything went very smoothly. I felt like I was in
very capable hands during the whole procedure. I would recommend Dr. Brown, he is a highly
professional surgeon.  — Mr. S
