Meet the Staff


Wynnette Beardsley

Wynnette Beardsley, OTR/L, CHT, MA
Certified hand and occupational therapist

A certified hand therapist and a registered and licensed occupational therapist, Wynnette Beardsley is the member of Dr. Brown's staff who most frequently assists patients during their recovery following surgery. Known for the her exceptional hand therapy skills and her clear explanations of the rehabilitation process, Wynnette takes pride in her ability to ensure there are “no surprises” as patients complete the post-operative phase of their care.

Wynnette joined Dr. Brown's staff on a part-time basis in 2005, transitioning to full-time service five years later. She has worked in healthcare since 1998, following her graduation from the University of Missouri, where she received a bachelor of science degree in Occupational Therapy. She later earned National Hand Therapy Certification.

Married to a wonderfully helpful husband and the mother of five, Wynnette feels fortunate to work with our patients and help them down their road to recovery. She enjoys listening to their experiences and delivering the treatment that prepares them to resume their former lives.


Penney Muskopf

Surgical and Medical Assistant

Penney Muskopf, a certified surgery assistant and medical assistant, has been a key member of Dr. David Brown's staff since 2001. Whether educating patients on the surgical procedures they will be undergoing, or taking after-hour phone calls to address their post-surgery concerns, Penney is known for making each of her patients comfortable and valued — from the time they undergo their initial evaluation until the time they are fully recovered.

Penney has worked in healthcare since 1996, including five years serving physical and occupational therapy patients at the Missouri Bone & Joint Center. Penney received an associate's degree in Applied Science for Physical Therapy and is certified and licensed as a Surgical First Assistant.

Married and the mother of two boys and a girl, Penney enjoys watching her children's outdoor sporting activities and indulging her passion for photography. Her patients' comfort is among her top priorities.


Dusty Springer

Dusty Springer
Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant Dusty Springer has played an integral role in Dr. Brown's practice since 2001. She currently serves as the office's patient coordination expert, with responsibilities for scheduling patient care and attending to their informational needs. Dusty has a reputation among our patients as an exceptional and patient listener who can answer — or quickly find an answer to — whatever questions they might have.

Dusty began her medical career more than a dozen years ago as a receptionist at Missouri Bone & Joint Center. In addition to her devotion to her “human” patients, Dusty is also an animal lover. She serves as head instructor at Exceptional Equestrians and Sharmry Hills, as well as assistant instructor at Therapeutic Horsemanship, where she provides horse-riding therapy programs for individuals with disabilities. She also teaches children about riding and horse care as head instructor at the Gateway Pony Club.

Dusty's daughter and many animals keep her busy outside of the office.


Bridget Squires

Bridget Squires
Medical Assistant

Bridget Squires has served as a medical assistant in Dr. Brown's office since 2006. Responsible for coordinating patient tests, appointments and surgical procedures, she is known by our patients for her patience and her skill in understanding and attending to their needs.

Prior to joining Dr. Brown's practice, Bridget spent 10 years as a medical assistant in a colon and rectal surgery practice, where she first developed her ability to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable prior to treatment.

Bridget received her training through the two-year Medical Assistant Program at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. She and her husband are parents of two girls. In her free time, she and her family enjoy hiking, picnics and other outdoor activities.

Tracy Fillies

Tracy Fillies, CPC, MA
Certified Professional Coder

As a certified professional coder, Tracy Fillies has supported Dr. Brown and his patients since 2006. Her organizational and multi-tasking skills strengthen her coding and billing responsibilities to lead patients through the process and ensure that all questions are answered.

Prior to The Orthopedic Center of St. Louis, Tracy ran the billing and coding for a cardiology practice and served as a medical assistant for an internal medicine practice. She earned her CPC certification in 2015 and her medical assistant certification in 1998.

Tracy enjoys reading historical fiction and mystery novels. She and her husband have two adult sons and one mini, long-haired Dachshund, Darby, that keeps her busy.
